Come join the Friends of the Pine Bush Community as we explore a globally rare ecosystem right here in the Capital District! This group is for anyone interested in local environmental conservation, outdoor recreation, and learning new things. Our gatherings range from volunteering in the preserve to hikes, bike rides, and more! Meet-up with us to enjoy socializing with others who enjoy the Albany Pine Bush Preserve.

Join the Friends of the Pine Bush Community for an afternoon hike in the preserve to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day!
We’ll meet at Trailhead #7 and hike out and back along the purple trail.
This is a great opportunity for people who are working toward completing the 20 Mile Challenge to cross off this trail.

Hike Guidelines and Rules:
- No pets are allowed.
- Hikers may be split up into two groups, depending upon the number of participants, to abide by Preserve Regulations on group size.

- Roadside Cleanup plus coffee and donuts!195 New Karner Rd, Albany, NE
Join the Friends of the Pine Bush Community for a roadside cleanup!
We’ll meet at the Pine Bush Discovery Center at 195 New Karner Rd. We’ll gather in the parking lot and enjoy some coffee and donuts. Then gloves, safety vests and garbage bags will be distributed. Our roadside cleanup will be along Rt. 155 (New Karner Road 🦋).
Please wear long sleeve shirts, long pants and boots. Bring your own insect repellant, a snack and water.
