The Alliance Française de Seattle is a dynamic educational and cultural 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, whose mission is to promote the French language and Francophone cultures through diverse programs in the Puget Sound area. It is part of an international network of Alliances Françaises—832 in 131 countries, and 105 of them in the USA alone.
AFSeattle offers French language classes and free community events for all ages and levels, with certified French as a Foreign Language instructors. It is open to everyone, whether you have studied French before or are just exploring an interest. Community events include, happy hours, lectures, screenings, workshops, book launches, culinary experiences and more.

Step into the refined decadence of the Belle Époque and discover the story behind one of the world’s most graceful desserts: the Pavlova.In this immersive pastry class, you'll learn to craft the perfect gluten-free Pavlova with crisp meringue, soft marshmallowy center, pillowy whipped cream, and jeweled fruit toppings. Alongside your baking experience, you’ll uncover the origin of this dessert, inspired by the legendary ballerina Anna Pavlova, whose name it still carries.
With the expert guiding of Laurence Boris, Founder of Pâtisserie Mon Amour, you will explore French baking foundations, key vocabulary in French, and the history of the Pavlova. On a mission to share her passion of pastry, Laurence will bring her experience from Ateliers des Sens and Ferrandi School of Culinary Arts in Paris to this class.
