(Dutch below) The Almere Tech Meetup is all about sharing inspiration around new technology and everything related to digital innovation. Each month (on the third Thursday), we invite a speaker to talk about an innovative technology or a current project. There’s also plenty of opportunity to connect and engage in informal conversations.
We warmly welcome all tech enthusiasts and digital pioneers from Almere and the surrounding area to join our event, hosted at the WonderBit office, right in the heart of Almere.
Come by for a drink and a bite, meet new people, and share your ideas and inspiration!

De Almere Tech Meetup draait om het delen van inspiratie rond nieuwe technologie en alles wat met digitalisering te maken heeft. Tijdens elke bijeenkomst (de 3e donderdag van de maand) nodigen we een spreker uit die vertelt over een innovatieve technologie of een actueel project. Daarnaast is er volop ruimte om in een informele sfeer met elkaar in gesprek te gaan. We verwelkomen alle techliefhebbers en digitale pioniers uit Almere en omgeving om deel te nemen aan ons evenement, dat plaatsvindt op het kantoor van WonderBit, midden in het centrum van Almere.

Realistic vs. real - the battle for trust in visual media
AI-generated images are now indistinguishable from real photos, and they're fueling misinformation at scale. How do you prove a photo is real? How do you spot one that isn't?
Sagar Panday will walk through the technologies being developed to fight manipulated images and disinformation, from cryptographic signing and content credentials to AI detection and forensic watermarking. He'll demo how these tools work in practice and where they fall short.
Sagar builds content provenance infrastructure at Okeanos B.V. in Almere and works directly with the standards and regulations shaping this space in Europe.

De Nieuwe Bibliotheek in Almere, Stadhuisplein 101, Almere, NLAccessibility matters (for all)!
What does it really mean to depend on digitally accessible applications in everyday life?
We begin the evening with an introduction that brings this question to life. It will give visitors a better understanding of the practical challenges people face when digital products and services are not designed to be accessible.We then turn our attention to the design process. Through practical examples, we show how digital accessibility can be considered from the very first design decisions. Because accessibility works best when it is part of the foundation, rather than something added at the end.
We conclude with a talk by Jeffrey de Looff, a passionate mobile app developer with twelve years of experience. Jeffrey will share the challenges his team encountered and the work they have done to make the MijnKPN app more accessible. He will take us through the entire process, from design and development to delivering accessible features to MijnKPN users. His examples will cover colours, spacing, responsiveness, theming, voice control and keyboard navigation.
Investing in accessibility benefits everyone, not just a small group of users. Ignoring it can exclude people and may also come at a considerable cost.The program is as follows:
