Nevada County Toy Run

Bring unwrapped gifts and non-perishable food items for this ride. Decorating your motorcycle is optional but might be run.

It’s been a number of years since I’ve attended the Nevada County Toy Run. I always like to prioritize support of hometown efforts to support children and families at the end of the year; but, it’s also fun to look at all the bikes in the parking lot at the Eric Rood Center in Nevada City, and then ride in one of the largest motorcycle parades in our area. Let’s hope the weather gods smile on us for this ride. Rain, snow, or ice will cancel our ride.

I’ll be starting in Sutter Creek with a number of other pick up spots along the way to Nevada City. Planned meet locations and KSU times are:

1. 8:30 - Sina’s Back Roads Cafe, 74 Main St, Sutter Creek
2. 9:20 - Red Hawk Travel Center, 3920 Shingle Springs Dr, Shingle Springs
3. 10:40 - Wings Grill & Espresso Bar, 13595 New Airport Rd, Auburn, CA

From the Auburn meet spot, we’ll boogie right up Hwy 49 and hope to arrive at the Eric Rood Center at least 45 minutes before parade launch at Noon.

Following the donation process, I’m going to ride to London’s Best Fish & Chips in Grass Valley and you are welcome to join me there for a late lunch.

After lunch, I plan to head toward Auburn and home on Dog Bar Road, then continue south on 49 all the way back to “The Creek”.
