Audience: 20’s & 30’s

Description: Our 20's & 30's Committee is leading a hike through the Northeastern section of McClean Game Refuge, with ~5.4 miles of park scenery and ~768 feet of elevation gain/loss, estimated at ~3-3.5 hours total. Friends new to hiking or the outdoors are welcome and encouraged!
Participants should bring at least 1 liter of water and sufficient snacks. Consider bringing a meal to enjoy at a picnic spot halfway through the hike. Leader, Jacob Dunnohew (513.222.1199) (dunnohewjacob@gmail.com). Feel free to contact with any questions or concerns!
Location: Meet at 10:00 am at the Northeast most parking, located at 109 Salmon Brook St, Granby, CT 06035. Hike begins promptly at 10:15 am . No restrooms at the parking lot. Weather: Anticipating temperatures around 45 degrees Fahrenheit and cloudy. Ice spots are possible; microspikes are recommended. Bring adequate layers, considering stationary breaks! Excessive rain will cancel the hike. Cancellations/postponements will be advised by email.

Hiking Route: From the parking lot, the direction of travel will head southbound, wrapping around the West edge of the park, rising to and descending East Barndoor Hill and Stony Hill. Then, following along the Northern edge to the initial starting point. The parking lot elevation is 204 feet, while East Barndoor Hill peaks at 583 feet and Stony Hill at 382 feet, equating to an elevation gain/loss of ~768 feet.
