Join us on a journey of learning and discovery as we celebrate African American stories in New York City during Black History Month.

Through a guided tour with the Tenement Museum, we'll explore the story of Joseph and Rachel Moore, Black New Yorkers who made their home in Lower Manhattan’s tenements in the 1860s and 1870s. The Joseph and Rachel Moore exhibit traces Joseph’s history from his free Black community of Belvidere, New Jersey, through his family’s migration to New York City, and the community he and his wife Rachel built in their neighborhoods and workplaces.

Please purchase your $30 timed ticket independently for the 4:00pm tour on February 28th using this link ... A Union of Hope: 1869 at the Tenement Museum. The tour is 75-minutes. Afterwards, we'll get together for drinks and a meal at a local eatery recommended by one of our AMC members.
