Artificial Intelligence in Project Management

Can AI Reduce Bias in Recruitment? A Project Management Case Study
Artificial Intelligence is often criticised for introducing bias into decision-making systems. But what if AI could be used to challenge human bias instead?
In this session, we will explore a real case study from a Project Management Office where generative AI was used to analyse interview transcripts during the recruitment of a project manager for a cyber security initiative.
The case raises an important question: when recruitment decisions are made based on discussion and professional judgement, how can we ensure those decisions are supported by evidence rather than impressions formed during an interview?
Rather than replacing human judgement, the AI in this case acted as a decision-support tool, helping to examine interview discussions more systematically and prompting reflection on whether candidate evaluations were fully supported by the evidence available.
The example provides a practical perspective on how AI can be applied within project governance processes to strengthen transparency, challenge assumptions, and support more evidence-based decision making.
If you are interested in how AI can augment governance practices within project environments, this case study offers an interesting example of how AI might contribute to improving fairness and accountability in recruitment.
This is about using and applying Artificial Intelligence within projects, we discuss prompt engineering, RAG, practical use cases and ways to enhance the way to deliver projects. This is not an introduction - it assumes basic working knowledge of AIs in the workplace. We also encourage professional networking and offer this event as a way to get noticed by recruiters. This is suitable for project managers, program managers, portfolio managers, PMOs, sponsors, change managers, business analysts and project coordinators.
Our Guiding Principles
• Foster a safe space to explore and share AI in projects.
• Value participation and learning over polish.
• Encourage curiosity, questions, and fresh ideas.
• Build community through shared growth and support.
• Champion responsible and ethical use of AI.

This event starts on time (we are project managers, right?); snacks and drinks will be available, so arrive early to network. After the 15-minute keynote speakers, there is time for community demonstrations and prompt examples of how you use AI. Feel free to please let us know!
Some members will be looking for project management roles. We invite you to add a green sticker to your name tag, and recruiters who have jobs to offer will be wearing a fluoro orange dot. It is NOT mandatory to have a dot on your name tag. ;-) A dot is an invitation to be approached.
