What we’re about
Attachment Theory emerged last century thanks to child development psychiatrist Dr. John Bowlby and Researcher Mary Ainsworth. They blew the whistle on why some of us cling, some of us bolt, and some of us live in a permanent emotional maybe. Their research revealed four distinct Attachment Styles—basically the “relationship templates” we download in childhood based on how consistently (or inconsistently) our caregivers showed up for us when we were children.
Think of it like this: your body has cellular-level DNA, and your relationships have Attachment DNA. While our cellular-level DNA is fixed, our Attachment DNA is highly editable once you learn the specialized skills and practice them deliberately. The behavioral patterns that used to feel inevitable—people-pleasing, emotional withdrawal, over-functioning, stonewalling, chasing, avoiding—turn out to be learned responses. Which means they can be unlearned, revised, and replaced with healthier, secure attachment patterns that make love feel steady and fulfilling rather than stressful.
This is why Attachment Theory continues to shape modern coaching, wellness work and therapy. Once you understand how your style operates under stress, at a distance, in response to intimacy, and during conflict, you gain something powerful: CHOICE. With clear awareness, specialized tools and guidance from an Attachment Pathway coach, even the most anxious, avoidant, or mixed-up Attachment Style can evolve into Earned Secure.
And that is exactly what the Attachment Pathway is designed to help you accomplish: it gives you a high-altitude view of the lessons, practices, and mindset shifts required to cultivate Earned Secure Attachment—that enables your relationships to feel reciprocal, steady, and genuinely aligned with your deeper needs rather than with your old childhood patterns stuck on repeat.
Right now, [AttachmentPathway.com](https://www.attachmentpathway.com) is hosting a public 6-Part Webinar Series: On Becoming Secure that explores the six core elements of our Attachment Patterns—those predictable, often frustrating relational dynamics created by the interaction of our internal wiring with someone else’s. Each event stands fully on its own, with no prerequisites. One new webinar is released each month and offered twice: once on a Monday at 7:00 PM U.S. Central Time and once on a Tuesday at the same time. (The title of the second offering is always marked with "2.0")
Each live webinar in this series takes one specific aspect of Attachment Styles and breaks it down in a clear, practical, interactive group format. Every session ends with open Q&A. Every webinar offers closed captions that are available in 48 languages. The focus is always the same: demystify Attachment Styles, build real-world skills, and strengthen the foundations of emotional wellness through secure connection.
