Awesome South Coast Walk - Stanwell Park to Thirroul With Side Excursion!

This is a fabulous coastal walk with many sights to see!
We will meet outside Stanwell Park Train Station in the car park.
The train leaves Central at 8.29am from Platform 25 and arrives at Stanwell Park at 9.34am. If driving, best to park at Thirroul (end of walk) and then train it to Stanwell Park.
As we start, we will head towards to Coalcliff and then to the Sea Cliff Bridge.
We will walk along Clifton, Scarborough Beach, Wombara Beach and Coaldale.
Somewhere along the way we will take a detour, climb to the top of the escarpment for glorious views of the coastline, then descend back down and continue to Sharky Beach and Austinmer. If you all behave, I’ll even show you our family’s Sunday tree here.
Then all the way to Thirroul, with its abundance of cafes.
We will be using paths and coastal footpaths/cycleways. The climb to the top of the escarpment will be along bush tracks.
We will aim to finish at Thirroul by 3.30pm.

DISTANCE: About 16 kms.
GRADE: Pretty flat for most of the way. Medium, due to the climb.
NOTE: Many out points.
SAFETY WARNING: Please stay away from cliff edges and be very careful when walking on wet and slippery rocks and surfaces. Please stay within sight of the group at all times and do not walk in front of the leader. If you get lost you are on your own and must find your own way home.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
· Be Prepared: Wear comfortable hiking shoes, bring at least 2 litres of water (plenty of places to top up), lunch, snacks and dress for the weather. Wear sturdy walking shoes, trainers or running shoes are fine.
· Follow Instructions: Please follow the instructions of the Host at all times and keep the Host within sight.
· RSVP Responsibly and Be Ontime at the Designated Meeting Point: Update your RSVP if you can’t make it.
