๐ŸŒฟ Morning Walk at Balcones District Park
A casual stroll through one of Austin's hidden gems

Come join us for a welcoming, easy-paced walk on the Walnut Creek Trail at Balcones District Park โ€” a lovely 1.3-mile paved loop in the heart of Northwest Austin that feels like a true escape from the city.
The trail is wide (10 feet), mostly paved, and rated easy โ€” perfect for all fitness levels. It winds through a wooded creek corridor along the Duval Branch of Walnut Creek, with some rocky and natural surface sections that add a little texture to the walk.

We'll walk two loops for a total of 2.6 miles, though you're always welcome to wrap up after the first โ€” listen to your body and do what feels right for you!

A heads-up for the trail: Toward the end of the loop, there's a very short stretch that runs parallel to Duval Road, where you'll pass along a concrete underpass with graffiti art. It's a brief section โ€” just good to know it's there so it doesn't catch you off guard. The trail is well-traveled and you'll likely have plenty of fellow walkers, runners, and cyclists around you throughout.
