About us
This is the Bonn chapter of Amazon Web Services (AWS) User Group which meets on a regular basis in and around Bonn to discuss and exchange ideas and topics from the ecosystem around AWS, their Services, and cloud computing in general.
Networking and socialising is a big part of this group combined with mainly technical talks about different aspects around AWS.
This group is based on the principle that content should primarily come from within the community and for the community. Therefore we welcome everybody, no matter if you just have startet looking into the topic of AWS or are already an experienced practitioner.
AWS User Group Bonn is an independent group; our activities and the opinions expressed here are not representative of Amazon Web Services.
We are always looking for people who would like to share their stories around AWS or could host our group by providing a location where we can meet. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with the organisers.

#21 AWS User Group Meetup - 10/2026
Qvest Digital AG, Am Dickobskreuz 10, 53121 Bonn, Germany, Bonn, K, DEDear AWS User Group Members,
Join us for a special AI edition of our AWS User Group Bonn meetup!
For the first time, we’re teaming up with the Java UserGroup Bonn for a shared meetup focused on a topic that is changing the way we build and operate software: AI.
We’ll look at two different sides of AI in software development. The first talk explores how AI agents can be built, integrated, and operated at scale as part of real applications and systems, using Java, Spring AI, and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. The second looks at how AI is changing the software development lifecycle. How teams can make effective use of AI coding agents, shared skills, and common harnesses across teams and repositories to build a more scalable and reliable way of working with AI to build software.
Detailed Agenda:
18:00 – Doors open
Check-in, arrive, grab a drink, and connect with fellow AWS enthusiasts.18:15 – Welcome & Housekeeping
Short Intro by Andreas, Johannes, and our host18:30 Talk 1, Vadym Kazulkin: Building production-ready AI Agents with Spring AI, Embabel and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore
Amazon Bedrock AgentCore provides infrastructure to securely deploy and operate AI agents at scale. In this talk, we’ll explore how to build an AI agent in Java using Spring AI, including MCP Streamable HTTP Client and MCP tools.
We’ll also look at Embabel for authoring agentic flows on the JVM, before deploying the agent to Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Runtime. Along the way, Vadym will cover AgentCore features including Observability, Gateway, Memory, and Identity, as well as the Spring AI AgentCore project and its integrations with Bedrock AgentCore.
19:30 Talk 2, Christian Bonzelet: Every Builder Ships: Scaling Agentic Engineering with Kiro at the Bundesliga
We’ve all seen the demo where one engineer builds an app in ten minutes with AI. But getting one person fast is easy. Getting reliable, high-quality output that an entire cross-functional team can trust is a very different challenge.
In this hands-on talk, Christian will show how Kiro is used at the Bundesliga: the guides, specs, skills, hooks, and feedback mechanisms that help agents work reliably in a real codebase.
You’ll see how to:- Build a practical harness around AI coding agents, including steering files, skills, specs, tests, linters, and other feedback mechanisms.
- Connect agents to a real development environment across Jira, Confluence, and the codebase while managing MCP access and token costs.
- Adapt your own role as an engineer — from writing every line of code to designing the right environment and reviewing agent output.
No staged demos — just what worked, what broke, and what you can take back to your own repository.
So, is an AI coding agent simply a productivity tool for one engineer, or can it become an operating model for an entire team? Come find out.Event Details:
