Talk #1: Preemptive Infrastructure Management
Speaker: Luiz Pacini Rabelo, Senior DevOps Engineer @ Riskified

BIO: Luiz brings over 13 years of experience in the IT industry, spanning roles from SysAdmin and Infrastructure to SRE and DevOps. With a strong background in Software Development (Java, Go), he holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and a Master’s in Software Engineering. At 36, Luiz is a dedicated professional and family man (father of three) who excels at bridging the gap between complex engineering challenges and practical, scalable solutions. Currently, he leads infrastructure initiatives at Riskified, focusing on automation and cloud efficiency.

TALK: Traditional autoscalers are reactive—they detect demand, then make you wait minutes for resources. Luiz will introduce a "preemptive" approach that uses hibernated infrastructure pools to cut activation times from minutes to seconds.

• The Problem: Latency in AI workloads and CI/CD runners.

Talk #2: No App, No Setup: Amazon Transcribe in a Box
Speaker: Tiago Rodrigues (AWS Hero and Senior Cloud Consultant@tecRacer ) & André Vidigal (AWS Community Builder and Cloud Consultant@tecRacer)
Tiago BIO: Tiago has diverse experience ranging from startups to enterprise projects. Tiago specializes in migrating from on-premises environments to the cloud, modernizing architectures, and implementing serverless solutions from idea to production.
Beyond his professional role, Tiago is deeply committed to knowledge sharing. He actively contributes to the AWS community, e.g., through the AWS User Group Lisbon, educational workshops, and guest lectures at universities to promote a learning culture and explore AWS's potential.
Proof of his passion for education and innovation is AWSary, an open-source mobile app he developed. AWSary is a playful yet informative AWS dictionary that helps draw diagrams for Solution Architects and provides quick insights into AWS services.
