About us
Hi everyone! đź‘‹ Welcome! I'm so glad you're here.
My mission is to create a cozy, welcoming space for introverted women in their 30s and 40s to connect over a shared love of reading, without feeling overwhelmed or "on" all the time. Reminder, it's okay if you haven't finished or haven't even started the book. All are welcome; this is a no-pressure environment.
Format:
- Meet Once a Month:
- Each month, we’ll rotate: one month fiction, the next nonfiction.
- Group Size:
- Each event will be limited to 6 participants, including the organizer.
- Smaller groups = easier conversations and less overwhelm.
- Format:
- Meetups will last about 1-1.5 hours.
- We'll meet at cozy spots (wine bar/cafe/restaurant) located in downtown SF or the East Bay.
- No formal presentations — just casual discussion.
- It’s 100% okay just to listen if you’re feeling quieter that day.
- Book Selection:
- A mix of popular, literary, cozy, and thought-provoking titles.
- Selections are announced at least 2 months in advance to give time for reading.
- General Vibe:
- Calm, welcoming, non-judgmental.
- No icebreakers, forced games, or putting people on the spot.
- It's okay if you don’t finish or even start the book—all are welcome!
I'm open to all feedback, so please don't hesitate to comment or reach out.
Looking forward to meeting you soon—in the calm, introvert-friendly way we all appreciate. 🖤 Courtney

NON-FICTION: I Would Meet You Anywhere, by Susan Ito
Sante Adairius Oakland, 460 8th Street, Oakland, CA, USFor our February pick, I've chosen I Would Meet You Anywhere by Susan Ito. This is a memoir that's been high on my to-read list. It touches on adoption, birth parents, questions of family, and the Japanese American incarceration. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/135984310-i-would-meet-you-anywhere
"'I Would Meet You Anywhere' is breathtaking. Like a master quilter, Ito is able to find the patterns and fit them together in a beautiful, cohesive story that’s balanced and satisfying, working in tandem to create a blanket of meaning enshrouding an entire life, plus some." - Donna Edwards, Associated Press

NON-FICTION: From Here to the Great Unknown, by Lisa Marie Presley, Riley Keough
2 Embarcardero Center, San Francisco, ca, USFor our April pick, I've chosen From Here to the Great Unknown, by Lisa Marie Presley & Riley Keough. I've always been fascinated with the life of Elvis. After seeing both the Baz Luhrmann film AND Riley in Daisy Jones & The Six, I knew I needed to read this one someday. Get ready to get EMOTIONAL. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/204905217-from-here-to-the-great-unknown
"However sad you are expecting 'From Here to the Great Unknown: A Memoir' will be, take heed: it’s sadder than that. This new volume, started by Lisa Marie Presley before her 2022 death and completed recently by daughter Riley Keough, falls squarely into the realm of autobio-tragedy — bracingly looking at how depression and addiction issues repeat themselves generationally, with almost none of the sentimentalized overlay you might expect a book of this kind to impose. 'I wondered how many times a heart can break,' Keough writes near the end. As a reader, you may have already been keeping some kind of mental score." - Chris Willman, Variety
