๐Ÿฅพ It's time for one of our Bendite favorite hikes! From Riley Ranch, we will hike 5 miles out and back from Riley ranch into the the Canyon Trail and continue to Tumalo State Park. This is a relatively easy trail other than a very steep section going up and down to the canyon trail from Riley Ranch. Poles recommended.

What to expect:

Poles recommended
Hiking boots or trail shoes are appropriate. I don't recommend tennis shoes.
No dogs
Bring water
Arrive 5-10 minutes early
Restrooms at trail head, but NO POSSIBLY NO RESTROOMS AT TUMALO STATE PARK. Sometimes they are closed for winter.

From Highway 97 North in Bend, take Exit 135B for NE Empire Avenue.
Turn left onto Empire Avenue and drive for 0.5 miles.

There are two ADA-accessible parking spaces available near the trailhead.
Important rules and information
Dogs are not permitted in the reserve.
The reserve offers a variety of trails, including an accessible paved path near the parking lot and more rugged trails that lead down into the canyon toward the Deschutes River.
Year-round restrooms (pit toilets) are located near the trailhead. โ€œ
