World Sustainable Transport Day - to Centennial Park
Details
Details
Meet at 9 am for a 9.10 start from the Lackey St fountain in Summer Hill, we'll go to the gazebo in Leichhardt’s Pioneer Memorial Park (at about 9.30) for anyone who wants to start from there (please indicate in EVENT CHAT if you will start at the Pioneers Memorial Park in Leichhardt). Then over the Anzac bridge and weave through the city on several bike paths, over the Tibby Cotter bridge and into Centennial Park for a casual, self-catered picnic brunch (NB there are 3 cafes in the park if you want to buy a drink or meal).
We'll return via the Moore Park Rd cycleway, Oxford St and Anzac Bridge.
There is public transport near Centennial Park at the light rail stop at Royal Randwick. Other guests are most welcome. They can join the ride or meet us in the park.
Participants will need to bring their food, drink and something to sit on. I strongly urge bringing a hat too.
Bring a helmet, gear to deal with a flat tyre, water, sunblock and a sense of humour.
