Oh man. Anyone know that feeling when you craft a wonderfully worded email and the computer or website glitches and all your words are lost? That is me right now. That is this message. This is version 2. The first message was so good! This new version, not feeling it. lol. It went something like the below, and the hearts and the hugs are still intact.

Thank you to everyone that donated the last few weeks. Thanks to your generous donations, the Meetup.com blood money fees of $358 a year have been fully covered. Thank you! Every year the club steps up, and you did so again. Thank you and I really appreciate you all!

I hope that everyone whom attended the holiday party had a great time. It was great to see the long-time members and the newer folks as well. The book exchange was great, and we had a couple of raffle winners as well. Good times!

One of the most important functions of the holiday party is gathering the book suggestions for the upcoming year. And those in attendance have provided a wide variety for 2026. As a reminder, at the bottom of every book club posting is the years reading list, in order. Use this list to get ahead, find deals on books, get the Libby reservation, etc. This list extends out through September. (Scroll down!)

Until Spring, we will have the Monday meetings at the Fat Rabbit, and the Tuesday meetings at Movement Brewing. Movement, located at Sunrise Blvd and 50 has food trucks, beer, seltzers and beer cocktails. They have a private room for our use. It's a great venue for book club. When the weather improves, the Tuesday meetings will return to the park.

Up next is "A Boy and his Dog at the End of the World" by C.A. Fletcher. I tried to get this into 2025, however venue availability was not guaranteed, so it will be the first book for 2026. This a post-apocalyptic novel about a boy named Griz who lives in a world with a drastically reduced population after a mysterious event called "the Gelding" made most people infertile. It's a cool take on the classic dystopian storyline. I've read it and really liked it.
