Come meet other Apple platform (iOS, macOS, etc) developers over some pizza and a soft drink/beer.

Please note there has been a change in venues and it's now hosted at Entain Group's office in Bowen Hills at 25 Montpelier Road.

This month’s talk walks through how to run Google’s MedGemma 1.5 — a 4B parameter medical vision-language model — natively on an iPhone using Apple’s open-source MLX framework and SwiftUI.

Running models on-device means zero server costs, no API keys, offline capability, and full user privacy — critical when working with medical images.

The session covers the MLX Swift ecosystem, real-world gotchas encountered (memory pressure, stop-token quirks), and concludes with a live demo analysing a medical image entirely on-device. No ML background required.

A special thanks to Mantel Group for providing the pizza 🍕

If you are interested in putting a talk forward for a future event, please get in touch on #brisbane-meetup on Cocoaheads slack.
