๐งฉ Element: HTML For The Next Generation Web - David Pitman (x: @drpitman76) - 30min
Element is described as an open-source web development framework built to unlock the full potential of the modern web + web3. This session will demonstrate how Element enables lightning-fast development of complex, modular web applications through inheritable web components, declarative routing and data binding, and a streamlined HTML-first architecture.
This talk will first explore Element's history and design goals, including write-once-use-anywhere code reuse, granular DOM updates, and simplified tooling. Live coding will showcase building a dynamic app in Element complete with reusable components, routing, data binding, and optional pre-rendering for production optimization and through to deployment.
Element provides a solid foundation for the next generation of web applications (and web3 dapps). Attendees will learn how to leverage Element's capabilities for their projects and contribute to a coming ecosystem of components and tools. The future of web development starts with Element.
โฑ Intermission - Pizza and Drinks networking!
๐ฎ Introduction to Canvas & Multiplayer Web Game Development - Glen Arrowsmith (x: @garrows) - 40min
This talk starts with the canvas element and teaches how to draw on it. We then add some basic gravity to start building a game. Keyboard input is added. Then we dive really deep by adding real-time multiplayer using WebSockets. Don't miss this interesting intro which can help impart useful transferrable concepts to any project.
โก๏ธ๐ Data-Forge Notebook v2 - Ashley Davis (x: @codecapers) - 10min
Ashley has stepped up to give us a demonstration of the next generation for Data-Forge Notebook... a powerful JS based repl-come-notebook solution for data manipulation and working through a problem step by step. Thanks for jumping in last minute Ashley!
โฑ Closing - Safe trip home folks!
