๐๐Day Trip to The South Wales Coast (Dunraven Bay to Llanwit Major)) ๐ฅพ๐
Details
Join us for our June monthly day trip as we explore one of the most stunning sections of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast โ a spectacular coastal walk from Dunraven Bay to Llantwit Major.
This dramatic clifftop route offers sweeping sea views, rugged coastal scenery, hidden coves, and fascinating fossil-rich beaches. Along the way, weโll pass the iconic Nash Point Lighthouse and the beautiful Tresilian Bay, making this a memorable summer hike along the Welsh coastline.
The walk is approximately 13km and should take around 3 hours at a steady pace. Please take care near the cliff edges, as sections of the coastline are prone to erosion and may be unstable.
Travel details
We will meet at Bristol Temple Meads at 8:57am to catch the train to Bridgend. From there, weโll take the 303 bus, arriving at Dunraven Bay at approximately 11:15am.
If you are driving, please meet the group at Dunraven Bay for 11:15am.
After the walk
Once we arrive in Llantwit Major, weโll stop at one of the local pubs for a well-earned drink, with the option to grab some food before taking the bus back to Bridgend. Drivers are welcome to join us on the return bus, which also stops at Dunraven Bay. I believe there is sufficient parking here.
