Upcycled art is the repurposing of materials that would otherwise enter our landfills into a new form, either for decoration, or for a new, reinvisoned use.

This workshop, we are using old cotton shirts and turning them into dog toys, which then will either be taken by participants, or donated to a local animal shelter. We will be lead by local artist, Leona McAndrews, a 4th generation Native Floridian Lifelong crafter!
After a 37 year career with Broward County, including three (3) years with Recycling & Contract Administration Division working on recycling and special projects, Leona knows just how important the impact of solid waste has on our landscapes. Outaide of her career, she was also a past Director of the Trash 2 Treasure Creative Reuse Center in Broward County.

Please bring t-shirts (the bigger, the better) and scissors to the workshop. We will be hosting the event at Plantation Heritage Park at Shelter #4: 1100 S Fig Tree Ln, Plantation, FL 33317 from 2pm to 4pm.
