Photographing an event like Dragon Boat Racing is a challenge. There is always lots of action, colour and a bit of chaos! On the shore there are often extra activities like the Chinese Loin Dances plus we have the added photographic elements that Fremantle Fishing Harbour always offers. We can cover this in a photojournalist manner, trying to not only record the event but also tell the story of it in one image.

I would recommend a telephoto lens of 300mm + so that you can zoom in on the action on the water although a shorter lens will still get you images of boats when they are closer to you.

This session needs a minimum of 3 people to go ahead. If you wish do the afternoon session as well please contact me before you book to arrange discounted price for the 2 sessions.
This small group session is lead by Anna-Mair, a formally trained professional photographer with many years experience of teaching people from beginners to advance to become better photographers. We welcome all cameras. Our meetups start with a brief of how to set the camera for the topic. They are fun and informative with likeminded people and the professional photographer on hand to assist throughout the session. She is highly regarded by the people she has taught and the methods she uses to teach them photography. She is very patient and understanding and works on the philosophy that there is no such thing as a silly question.
