We will first hike up to the Lower Shamokin Falls then continue upward to the Upper Shamokin Falls and eventually backtrack to the parking area. Although the hike is only 6.25 miles long it is strenuous with 1,993 ft of elevation gain and areas of rock and small streams to cross. But the falls and winter view are beautiful! Make sure to dress in layers, bring a backpack with water and snacks, and trekking poles are advised. Meet at the end of Old Stoney Creek Road to enter this Wintergreen Resort Property (it is open to the public). Parking is somewhat limited so carpool if you can. If folks want to grab lunch or other refreshments together afterward, there are many choices nearby.
