If weekends are good for folks, I'm happy to have you all visiting the ranch again on Saturday, 02/07/2026, if you're available. I'm happy to give new folks a tour of the ranch and the horses. We can meet up at 11 am and stay till about 3pm (or when the horses are all fed). I recommend bringing water and snacks/lunch to munch on. If you need to leave earlier, just let me know

What my regular day looks like out there if it's just me:
*Let the stall horses out with the rest of the herd (these horses are special, so they've got to be single-stalled every evening)
*Prep breakfast/dinner/water
*Muck stalls
*Do repairs/clean up
*Make the environment a little better than the last time I've seen it

The more folks I have out there on any given day, the more we can accomplish together for the horses

I highly recommend bringing boots, galoshes, or any other shoe type you don't mind sinking into mud. Wearing clothes you don't mind getting dirty will help. Have a jacket and hat handy for the inclement weather. This Saturday is due to be about 72 degrees by mid-afternoon so it'll warm up. Definitely have layers handy

What we need more of. Please do share if you know someone who might be a good fit to help us:

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our equine program. Every meal served, every stall cleaned, every path trimmed, and every horse groomed reflects the care of people who believe in creating a safe, welcoming, and transformative space for both horses and humans. There’s a place for you

🌟 Volunteer Opportunities
šŸ„• Feeding Crew – ā€œBe the Start of Their Best Dayā€
Help our horses begin their day with nourishment and kindness. Volunteers prepare hay and grain, deliver meals, and ensure each horse is content and ready for the day’s activities. Ideal for early risers and anyone who enjoys quiet, purposeful morning/afternoon routines.

🧹 Stall Care & Mucking – ā€œCreate a Clean, Safe Havenā€
A clean stall is essential to a horse’s health and comfort. Volunteers remove soiled bedding, refresh stalls, and help maintain a tidy barn environment. This role also includes caring for each horse’s feeding and watering areas — scrubbing and refilling water bins, cleaning hay bins, and ensuring every stall is safe, dry, and ready. It’s hands-on, deeply satisfying work that directly supports the wellbeing of our herd and keeps the barn running smoothly.

✨ Grooming Team – ā€œBuild Trust Through Touchā€
Grooming is where relationships grow. Volunteers brush coats, clean hooves, detangle manes, and provide gentle care that keeps our horses comfortable and confident. Perfect for anyone who wants meaningful one-on-one time with horses.

šŸš¶ā€ā™‚ļø Turnout Assistants – ā€œGive Horses the Freedom to Moveā€
Help our horses enjoy daily exercise and enrichment by walking them safely from their stalls to turnout areas or arenas. Volunteers learn safe leading techniques and experience the grounding connection of walking alongside a horse.

🌿 Landscaping & Grounds Crew – ā€œShape the Space Where Healing Happensā€
Our program thrives in a space that feels safe, beautiful, and well cared for. Volunteers help maintain pastures, trim walkways, tend gardens, repair fencing, and keep the property welcoming year-round. A great fit for those who love being outdoors and working with their hands.

šŸ› ļø Creative Projects & Organizing Team – ā€œBuild, Improve, and Imagine What’s Nextā€
For the makers, organizers, and problem-solvers. Volunteers help organize tack rooms, sort supplies, label equipment, clean and tidy shared barn spaces, build small projects, and create new systems that make the barn run smoothly. This role is perfect for anyone who loves improving spaces, bringing order to chaos, and turning good ideas into practical solutions that support the whole herd.

🚜 Hauling & Barn Support Crew – ā€œKeep the Barn Running Smoothlyā€
This behind‑the‑scenes role is essential to the health of the horses and the overall flow of the barn. Volunteers help haul manure, move trash, transport supplies, and assist with lifting or moving tasks that keep the property clean, safe, and functional. Perfect for those who enjoy physical activity and want to make a visible impact with every visit.

⭐ Training & Support
We provide hands‑on volunteer training to ensure everyone feels confident, safe, and supported in their role. Training is offered on Wednesdays and weekends, giving new volunteers the chance to learn at a comfortable pace and ask questions as they go. Whether you’re brand new to horses or returning after time away, we’ll walk you through every task step‑by‑step — from grooming and turnout to stall care, hauling, and barn safety.

Our goal is to help you feel prepared, empowered, and part of the team from day one.

🤲 Working Together, Making an Impact
Every visit to the barn is an opportunity to make life better for the horses who depend on us. Their comfort, safety, and sense of peace come directly from the care our volunteers provide — and without that steady, compassionate effort, none of this would be possible.
When we work together, we create more than clean stalls and full hay bins. We build a sanctuary. We restore trust. We give older horses dignity, rescued horses a second chance, and minis and ponies the gentle attention they deserve. Each task — big or small — adds up to a healthier herd and a stronger, more welcoming barn community.

Our volunteers don’t just help run the program; they are the program. With every shift, every grooming session, every repaired fence board, and every organized tack room, we shape a space where horses can thrive and people can find purpose. Your presence matters, your consistency matters, and your heart for service makes all the difference.

šŸ“… Volunteer Availability & Expectations
(As of now, this is not a riding facility and does not offer riding lessons.)
We welcome volunteers in many forms — whether you’re experienced with horses, skilled with tools, great at organizing, or simply eager to help. If you feel you have a talent, strength, or passion that could support our mission, we’d love to hear from you. Weekday and weekend opportunities are available.

⭐ Consistency Matters
We’re especially looking for volunteers who can commit to a regular day and time each week. Even one consistent shift makes a tremendous difference in the well-being of our herd and the smooth operation of the program.

šŸŽ–ļø Veterans Welcome
Military Veterans are strongly encouraged to participate. Veterans form the core of our volunteer community, and we’re proud to offer a space where camaraderie, purpose, and connection thrive.

šŸ¤ There’s a Place for You
No matter your background or experience level, we’re committed to finding a role that fits your abilities and interests. If you’re dependable, caring, and ready to make a difference, we’d be honored to have you join our team.
