I'm Clinton Mead I did takeover this group a while ago as it was left without an organiser and meetup closes groups without organisers. I've never organised any events for this meetup although I do organise https://www.meetup.com/sydney-tech-meetups/ which runs a regular meetup on the third Thursday of every month.

Unfortunately meetup has a limit of 3 groups so I'm leaving this group to free up a slot. Feel free to take over it there's no need to ask.
