Warrumbungle Dark Sky Camping
Details
Warrumbungle National Park is Australia’s first (and one of only three) internationally Certified Dark Sky Park.
Join us for camping under pristine skies for an unforgettable stargazing experience, weather permitting of course.
Learn astrophotography, including best practices for Milky Way photography:
- Gear to use
- Daytime planning using PhotoPills
- Shooting strategies: star stacking, star trails, timelapse
- Camera setup and settings
- Practical demonstration of post processing technics
- Constructive critic and evaluation of your photos (on a voluntary bases)
- Alternatively, just relax and enjoy being under the stars in a way, 80% of the world’s population will never have a chance to experience.
Practicalities:
- Warrumbungle National Park is about 500 km or 6-hour drive from Sydney. Ride sharing is encouraged, please indicate in the comments section whether you are a driver or a passenger.
- The dates chosen are favourable for milky way photography where the galaxy core is visible roughly between 1am and 5am with only 5% illumination from the moon. I expect that these days will be popular, so I recommend to rsvp as early as you can so we can organise the campsite bookings well in advance.
- Fee: $99 pp
I will provide further details in the coming days.
