What we’re about
Do you want to get out of the house, try new things, and have a lot of fun meeting other active friends your age? Come join us around Columbus for casual, unique and exciting events at the coolest venues in town.
Here's what the group offers:
- Activity - Our goal is to host at least 8 events per month, adding more as we discover more interests. Most of our events allow casual conversation in a fun environment. Even activities with music, games, or sports have social time built in.
- Social Outlet - No more excuses to be home and bored.
- Quality People - Members have to be approved. Singles and couples may join but you must have a membership with a current picture of yourself on your profile. Also, we charge a small yearly admin fee to help keep up with meetup fees and costs managing so many events. (Note: all new members get a 30 day free trial before fees are required)
- Friendship - Finding friends with common interests is encouraged. You must be in your 40s, 50s, or 60s to be a member of this Meetup.
As your organizer, I promise good communication and organized activities. In return, I ask that members keep their RSVPs current.
So hang out with us at one of our events! Engage or just observe but...come join the fun soon!
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- LDNL on the Patio!Harry Buffalo, Westerville, OH
We'll start with social time over dinner & drinks until 8:00pm. Then we'll get down with a great live hip-hop/R&B band, Lt. Dans New Legs (LDNL).
Harry Buffalo has the best tiered outdoor patio in Columbus! They have a wide selection of quality appetizers and entrees.
SEATING: first come/first serve. They only seat tables if half the party is there so plan your arrival with others. Most patio tables are declared by 6:15. LATE ARRIVALS may have to sit inside or hang out near our patio tables.
COVER CHARGE: $5.00 (cash only)
DRESS: Summer Patio (picnic table friendly)
PARKING: park in lots behind HBs, but NOT at Taco Bell.
WEATHER PERMITTING. Harry Buffalo usually cancels by 4pm if storms. - Dublin Irish Festival!Dublin Irish Festival, Dublin, OH
Make plans to celebrate the Homeland from the Heartland in Dublin, Ohio at the largest 3-day Irish Fest on the planet, #DublinIrishFest! Wear a little green and join our festive bunch!
MEETUP: We will form a circle of chairs as our landing spot on the grassy area just outside of the CELTIC ROCK STAGE (look for my Meetup chair in the middle). This area has easy access to food trucks and beer, wine and cocktail trucks. The Celtic Sports area is nearby (Highland Games). Lots of restroom trucks, too.
COST: Purchase discount tickets now for only $20 ($30 general admission - age 10+ or $20 Seniors at the gate). Tickets are non-refundable. (I wait and get them at gate)
PARK & SHUTTLE: http://dublinirishfestival.org/parking-shuttles/
Metro Center, 555 Metro Place North, Dublin, Ohio 43017
A complimentary shuttle service runs continuously from Metro Place to the Festival. Shuttles begin each day one hour before the festival opens, and continue until one hour after the festival closes.
MUSIC: This festival has variety, no matter your taste. I like evenings by the Celtic Rock stage because they have Irish Dancers, folk rock and solid celtic rock each evening. Please feel free to go early and wander to catch all the other cultural venues.
BRING: Lawn chair or blanket. No coolers. Bags are inspected by security at Fest entrances. Most vendors accept cash or charge.
WEAR: Summer Fest wear - nice t-shirt & shorts, comfy shoes (fest is on 38 acres of grass, trails and sidewalks).
NEWBIES: This event is very freeform so I would suggest coming along with a buddy as members will be coming and going from our circle.
