Saratoga Gap - Castle Rock Loop 10 Mi - 1650 Elevation Gain

Saratoga Gap to Castle Rock Loop is 10-mile loop trail near Saratoga off Hwy 35. A moderately challenging route, it will take us around 4.5 hours to complete. We'll enjoy beautiful vistas and amazing rock formations. The weather is cool with the slight chance of rain to make for a pleasant hike. There is a mix of exposed and shaded trails. Some scrambling may be required. We may also encounter some downed trees. We'll go counter-clockwise, crossing Hwy 35 to start on Skyline to the Sea Trail.
There are no restrooms at the trailhead. We'll break at a mid-point where there is a picnic table and an outhouse.
Start together, stay together: We'll start at 9:00am. We hike at a brisk pace, on average 2.6 to 2.8 miles per hour, stopping at all junctions to make sure we stay on track and stay together.
