Maribyrnong River WALK + Vietnamese Lunar New Year/Tet Festival. Feb 28

Enjoy a 1 hour walk alongside the lower Maribyrnong River,
through Newell's Paddock Reserve & Footscray Park, to Jack's Magazine, a Heritage Listed 1880s Bluestone gunpowder storage facility that's hidden behind embankments.
[Note: Later start/Meetup time of 2:15pm]

From there, we can walk a bit further to Pipemakers Park.
(That will depend on walking pace of group). Walk duration approximate.
UPDATE: we may go straight to Festival, & do riverside walk from there, returning to the Station via Riverside

From Jack's Magazine, we'll walk 15 minutes, back to Footscray Park, to Enjoy the Lunar New Year Festival there this weekend 28 Feb/1 Mar.

Currently; Updated forecast: Chance of few very light showers [less than 0.1mm) thru afternoon, but will be clear much of the time.
An alternative indoor location worked out, if more than very light rain

Meet @Footscray Station at 2:15pm, in the forecourt Outside Platform 1 (main shops side of station). Meet near Ezymart Convenience Store that's in the Station's main forecourt area.

We'll start walking at 2:30. If you are late & able to walk fast to catch up, we'll be walking (north-east) along Irving St, Byron St walking/bike path, Railway Place, to Newell's Paddock reserve.
OR, go straight to Footscray Park, as we'll stop briefly there, & for toilets.
I'll post where we are at, when there. But won't respond to comments/msgs, or texts/calls after 1:30pm, as very long time since been along this particular part of Maribyrnong River, so need to concentrate on walk route.

Forecast 28C, possible heavy shower (currently predicted for 4-5pm). So wear hat/cap, sunscreen, bring something for rain covering.
Plan is to be back at Footscray Station by approx 4pm; it's 15 mins direct walk back to station, from Footscray Park,

After the Meetup (official end) I'll likely take train (15 mins) to Williamstown to enjoy beach, or icecream at excellent place with great range of icecreams, gelati, & sorbet. So come along if wish to

(Late notice/posting of this Meetup event is due to originally storms were forecast, but most of Saturday is now to be clear, except for a heavy shower or two around 4-5pm. As is late notice posting, this meetup will also be posted on/combined with 1 or 2 other groups.
