Synopsis:
The chakra system is often dismissed as New Age superstition, yet its roots reach deep into some of the oldest esoteric traditions. Far from the rainbow charts and organ maps of pop spirituality, the original chakra doctrine outlined stages of psychological discipline, moral purification, and spiritual
evolution. Stripped of its modern distortions, the chakra system confronts the contemporary Western seeker with an uncomfortable question: can an Eastern map of consciousness genuinely guide a person toward higher awareness, or has it become just another fashionable buzzword for people who speak of "higher powers" while struggling to master the basics of life? This study takes a critical look at whether the chakras offer real transformative insight or are only another distraction dressed in esoteric language.
