About us
A grounded space for life after divorce or separation
Divorcee Café is a calm, thoughtful meetup space for adults navigating life after separation or divorce. It’s designed for people who want something steady and human during a period that can feel emotionally noisy, isolating, or uncertain.
This group isn’t about rushing connection, fixing each other, or reinventing yourself overnight. It’s about creating space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself — alongside others who understand the terrain you’re walking through.
Some people come to talk.
Some come to listen.
Some come because being around others without pressure feels easier than being alone.
All of that belongs here.
### What you can expect
- Small, intentional gatherings
- Respectful conversation and clear boundaries
- Experiences that prioritize emotional safety and presence
- A tone that’s reflective, grounded, and welcoming without expectation or agenda
Everyone is encouraged to show up honestly, engage thoughtfully, and respect the pace and boundaries of others.
### Current meetups include:
- Quiet Conversations – A peer-led support gathering facilitated by D'von, focused on listening, shared experience, and thoughtful dialogue.
- Find Your Rhythm: Guitar for Healing & New Beginnings – A beginner-friendly music experience that uses learning and creativity as a way to reconnect with yourself after a major life transition. No prior musical experience required.
Events may evolve over time, but the intention remains the same: to offer grounded, emotionally intelligent spaces during a period of change.
Divorcee Café isn’t about finding instant answers or instant intimacy. It’s about taking one honest step at a time and having somewhere steady to land while you do.
You’re welcome to come as you are, participate in the ways that feel right for you, and leave with more clarity than you arrived with.
About the organizer
This group is organized by Michael, a music educator and community builder. He also runs a separate creative music community called Wandering Bards, which focuses on learning and playing music together. While some Divorcee Café participants may be interested in that work, Divorcee Café exists independently and participation here does not assume or require involvement in anything else.

Find Your Rhythm: Guitar for Healing & New Beginnings
Glendale Branch Library, 1375 S Concord Street (1240 W), Salt Lake City, UT, USAn Apprentice Training experience
This is a beginner-friendly guitar group for adults navigating life after separation or divorce who want a creative, grounding way to reconnect with themselves. No experience required. If you’ve never played guitar—or if life interrupted your creativity—this space is designed to be gentle, supportive, and human.
Bring your guitar and we’ll start with basic chords, simple strumming, and learn one approachable song together each month. This isn’t about performance or perfection. It’s about:
- Rebuilding confidence
- Giving your nervous system something steady to hold onto
- Remembering that you’re allowed to learn, try, and enjoy things again
I’ll be teaching the class myself, and we’ll always end with a relaxed group jam where everyone can participate at their own level.
This experience is part of what I call Apprentice Training—the first step in a larger creative journey. Some people keep this as a gentle, standalone practice. Others discover they want to go deeper later on. Both paths are welcome.
🎶 This month’s song:

Feeling isolated or navigating the tender terrain after a relationship ends? You are not alone. Join us for Quiet Conversations: Our Haven for Connection, a warm and welcoming space designed for genuine support and understanding.
We gather bi-weekly at the Glendale Branch Library. This isn't just a meetup; it's a place to find your footing, share your journey, and build meaningful connections with others who truly understand.
