I’ve been reading Walter J. Ong’s book Orality and Literacy: The Technologizing of the Word, which has been having a moment recently as people fret that we’re becoming post-literate. It’s about what it sounds like, namely how the history of thought has been shaped by the technology of literacy. If that sounds interesting then I’d love to argue with you about it!
