Native Species Day is Tuesday, May 20th! Join Friends of Beltzville volunteer and Master Gardener Diane Giffels for Native Species Day at Beltzville State Park. To celebrate, we will have a special presentation titled "Planting for Pollinators", at the Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC) from 6:00pm-7:00pm.
Discover in this workshop, "Planting for Pollinators", how to transform your property into a thriving pollinator haven. Explore all the layers in your property where you can create a sanctuary for birds, butterflies and other beneficial insects. Following the workshop will be a guided tour of Beltzville's Pollinator Garden and Conservation Area where each year we strive to boost biodiversity by removing invasives and planting native trees, shrubs, and perennials.
We will be meeting at the Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC) for this program.

Meet ambassador animals and learn about AARK's vital work rehabilitating wildlife in Bucks County! AARK will be at the Environmental Education Center to teach us about native Pennsylvania wildlife and what we can do to help. This event is sponsored by the Friends of Nockamixon State Park.
Spaces are limited and registration is required.
This event will take place at the Environmental Education Center. Parking is available in Parking Lot 12 (Google Maps Link).
DIRECTIONS TO ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER FROM THE PARK OFFICE:
1. From the park office parking lot, head northeast by turning right onto Route 563/ Mountain View Drive.
2. Proceed 0.8 miles to Harrisburg School Road and turn right.
3. Proceed 0.3 miles to the stop sign (entering the park) and turn right.
4. Proceed 0.2 miles to parking lot #12 and park.
5. Using either the main park roadway or the gravel path, walk through the wooded area 400 ft to the Environmental Education Center.If you need an accommodation to participate in park activities due to a disability, please contact the park office at 215-529-7300, option 6.

Join the park naturalist and our Astronomy enthusiasts/Conservation Volunteers, for our first night stargazing program of the year!
Participants will have captivating views of June's Full Strawberry moon, as well as planets and constellations, using our professional telescopes. This program will begin as a short informative discussion followed by a hands-on exploration of the wonders and mysteries of the evening skies. Feel free to bring your own equipment. This event is free. MINORS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. The park asks that visitors to our stargazing programs please leave their pets at home. Dim lighting, large crowds and sensitive equipment do not create a pet-friendly environment.This stargazing program will be held at the Pine Run Boat Launch on Pohopoco Drive. The Pine Run Boat Launch is located approximately 4/10th of a mile east of the park office on Pohopoco Drive (GPS coordinates for the boat launch entrance are N 40.86705 W 75.62047). Please DO NOT park in the long parking spaces designated for boat trailers!!!
***PLEASE NOTE!!! All stargazing programs will be canceled and in the event of cloudy/overcast skies, rain, or severe thunderstorms. If the sky is overcast or mostly cloudy, the program will be canceled. If the sky is clear or partly cloudy, the program is a GO! A decision to cancel will be made no later than 3pm the day of the program, but normally a decision to cancel needs to be made 24 hours in advance.
