Western leatherwood in Chabot Regional Park
Details
Meet at the MacDonald Staging Area of Chabot Regional Park off Redwood Road. We will walk up the MacDonald Trail looking for western leatherwood (Dirca occidentalis), which should be in bloom. Not many other blooms yet but other trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants will be identified. The walk goes uphill (not too steep) and then back the same way. Walk takes place rain or shine. The trail may be muddy. It is a wide former fire road. The walk is led by David Margolies (divaricatun@gmail.com) of the Esat Bay chapter of the CNPS.
