Ekoji means “The Temple of the Gift of Light.” and its temple is Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-Ha in Kyoto, Japan. This denomination is commonly known as Shin Buddhism. A Japanese monk named Shinran established this form of Buddhism in the 12th century. - This group is for those interested in learning more of and participating in Pure Land Buddhism (Shin). Join us weekly on Sundays for Service and for special events throughout the year.

Join us for an exclusive, hands-on workshop where you will learn the principles, techniques, and spiritual significance behind our beautiful floral displays, and use them to create a stunning seasonal centerpiece arrangement for your own holiday table. The $45 registration fee includes all materials, fresh flowers, and expert instruction.

Bodhi Day Service
Ekoji Buddhist Temple, 6500 Lakehaven Lane, Fairfax Station, VA 22039-1879, Fairfax, VA, USJoin us either in person or online for our Bodhi Day service, commemorating the day that Shakyamuni Buddha attained enlightenment. Dress is casual yet conservative, and everyone is welcome to come listen to the Dharma and learn the Nembutsu, chants and songs associated with our tradition of Shin Buddhism. As long as Fairfax County COVID spread rates remain low, face masks are optional.
