Short Morning Hike - Reservoir Ridge Natural Area EAST side
Overview
Beginner-plus, dog-friendly loop hike that resets your mood, boosts energy, and connects you with friendly hikers, ending with a casual post-hike coffee vibe.
Details
Get out early for some fresh air and exercise!
We'll hike from the Michaud Ln. trailhead to the second trail junction, turn right and go around the north loop, turn left at the connector, turn left again when we hit the trail on the east side of the hill, then head back to the trailhead. IOW, this will be a "lollipop" type hike. It's about 4 miles all told with about 450 verts. At a moderate 2mph pace we should complete this in about 2 hrs.
This is a dog friendly hike. If you have a reasonably well-behaved pup that likes to hike, feel free to bring him/her. I'll have my 6 y.o. German Shepherd with me. He can be a little bark-y when meeting new people or dogs, but he'll calm down once we get moving.
We head up the trail promptly at 0900 AM. Don't be late!
Optional coffee afterwards at The Fox Den coffee shop at 1680 Laporte Ave., FC.

Meet at the Michaud Ln. trailhead (the trailhead is at the far west end of Michaud Ln., where it dead ends). Note this is NOT the trailhead directly off Overland Trail Rd., NOR is it the trailhead off Centennial Drive (County Road 23).
DO NOT TRY TO USE YOUR PHONE/NAV SYSTEM TO NAVIGATE TO THE "RESERVOIR RIDGE" TRAILHEAD. YOU WILL GET LOST. USE THIS TRAIL MAP AND GO TO THE TRAILHEAD AT THE WEST END OF MICHAUD LANE. https://www.fcgov.com/naturalareas/pdf/res-ridge-trail-map2016.pdf?1466709185.
