What we’re about
FFF>50 has an amazing new home on the web. When you join us there, you'll be able to search for members who live near you and/or share your interests, create an interest-based club, post discussions in an organized and searchable feed, upload images, and of course create gatherings large and small. It's a real friendship-making machine!
Here's your invitation to join us at our new home: bit.ly/4ivrVVd
FFF>50 is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 organization where women >50 come to connect, make friends, share their passions and expertise, and revitalize in their second act.

- Picnic and "Pick and Paint" in Warrenton VA!Flo's Blossoms & Herbs, Warrenton, VA
Let's get out into the Virginia countryside to enjoy a simple bring-your-own picnic together, pick a bouquet of lovely flowers to take home, and then paint a picture of our own arrangement or another still life of our choice!
It's a bit out of town (about 50 minutes), but the benefits include time in nature, picking our own flowers, engaging in the creative and meditative activity of painting (no matter how it turns out), and best of all, spending time with other great FFF>50 women!
You are welcome to come and go as you please (for instance you could enjoy the picnic and flower picking but skip the painting, or skip the picnic and arrive for the flowers and painting).
Owner Florence Jones runs this flower farm as a haven for families with kids on the spectrum as well as anyone who loves nature and flowers. See more details here: https://www.flos-blossom-herbs.com/about.html
Planned schedule:
- Carpools or individuals leave the DC area about 11 am (I'll reach out to facilitate carpooling, including pickups at Metro).
- We'll picnic on the grounds around noon.
- Around 12:30 we can start picking our own flowers ($20 to fill a recycled glass jar)
- And around 1 pm we'll do the painting activity. Florence provides all materials. The cost for the painting is $35 with $10 being a non-refundable deposit. (I'll reach out to those who RSVP with more instructions).
- Then we'll carpool or drive individually home with our lovely flowers and our new masterpiece :)What to bring: Your own picnic/water, sunscreen, your own cutting shears if desired, farm-friendly footwear (they have chickens and goats). Dogs are allowed if leashed at all times.
Please include your cell number so I can reach out about the deposit, carpooling etc. Thank you and hope you can join!
Note: we have a few more people joining from Finding Female Friends>50 on Mighty Networks, a nice "walled garden" for our group, please join us over there too if you haven't already, here's the join link! https://community.fff50.org/share/dbWb9iJu5XwSN2TR
- Washington Nationals, Chicago White Sox and FFF>50 Friends!Washington Nationals Park, Washington, DC
Baseball fans! Let’s watch our local team together on the last weekend of the regular season. Tickets are currently as little as $20 (section 224). You know how baseball is, plenty of opportunity for socializing. Game starts at 4:05.
There’s a promotional giveaway T-shirt for the first 10,000 fans, so you’d have to get there earlier for that. Depending on interest we can decide whether to try and buy the tickets in a group together beforehand or just have everyone get a ticket at the box office upon arrival. The park has been pretty empty lately so likely we could sit together even if our seats aren’t exactly together.
Metro Green line to Navy Yard/Ballpark. And the Nationals website also sells parking options nearby.
Please include your cell number with your RSVP so we can coordinate! Hope to enjoy the game with you!
Note: FFF>50 will soon be permanently shifting to our new walled-garden home on the free Mighty Networks platform, please sign up here!
