Paekākāriki Escarpment

Saturday morning adventure.

The Paekākāriki Escarpment Track.

This spectacular slightly vertigo inducing, 10 km hiking trail.

Meet at Paekākāriki railway station 9:30. train arrives 9:44 we will train south to Pukerua Bay station (9:54 arrival) and start the walk from there.

Known locally as the "Stairway to Heaven", it features over 1,200 steep steps, narrow clifftop pathways, and two swing bridges 220 meters above sea level.
there are lots of elevation changes so the total elevation change is much higher than 220meters

We will finish the walk in Paekākāriki near some great cafes to recharge for the rest of your Saturday
