By popular demand, we’re kayaking Chicago Loop! 🚣‍♀️

We’ll be kayaking the most spectacular stretch of the Chicago River — paddling from the North Branch Canal to the Loop while taking in the stunning Chicago skyline along Lower Wacker Drive.

The weather forecast looks promising — no rain in sight and temps reaching the upper 50s. Perfect autumn paddling weather! 🍂

### Route

We’ll launch from the Public Boat Launch by REI Lincoln Park (905 W Eastman St, Chicago, IL 60642). From there, we’ll paddle south, passing Goose Island on the right, and turn around near the Wabash Ave Bridge. Street parking available.

This route is generally suitable for beginner paddlers — just keep an eye out for larger boats and follow all safety guidelines (life jackets required). No special permits are needed, but please review the Safe Paddling Guide before heading out.

🛶 Note: You’ll need to bring your own kayak — REI no longer offers rentals at this location.
