Ever thought about hosting your own meetup event?

Hosting an event is one of the loveliest ways to explore your local area, do a fun activity, and meet people who love the same things you do.

I remember running my first events back in 2015... and I was soooo nervous. But then once everyone arrived and got chatting, I relaxed and was able to have fun with them.

Just remember: hosting an event is supposed to be fun and, at the end of the day, it's a volunteer gig. No pressure - just be yourself. Your guests will be very grateful that you showed up to hold the space for them to participate.

The Workshop
This is a 45min online workshop for anyone curious about hosting a Good Conversation Club event.

I'm Sarah, the group's organiser, and I'll share the tips and tricks that make hosting easy and enjoyable; how to set the tone, get things started, and hold a relaxed space where good conversations happen on their own. Then we'll open up to Q&A, so bring along whatever you're wondering about.

You don't need any experience, and you don't need to have decided anything. Hosting is a small step that tends to open up a lot; new activities, new corners of the city, and connections with like-minded people who love doing what you love too.

To get the most out of the experience:

  • arrive with your camera on so we can see each other
  • raise hand to ask questions or type in chat
  • turn up curious

What this is: a complimentary, interactive session on Zoom. The link will be shared with everyone who RSVPs.

As a heads up.... we have a set of guidelines that all our guests follow. They're listed on every event for all to refer to incase you're not sure about something.
