Doors open for drinks at 6:00pm, and talks will kickoff at 6:30pm. There'll also be pizza, and when the talks finish up there'll be more time for drinks and networking. Look forward to seeing you then!

Talks:

BigQuery: Managed storage for analytics, Jordan Tigani (Google)

Note: this is a remote presentation over hangouts.

Jordan is the the tech lead for BigQuery, Google's petabyte scale data warehouse. He even wrote the book (https://www.amazon.com/Jordan-Tigani/e/B00KN13XPK) on it. Crikey! We're incredibly lucky to have him speak at GDG Cloud Melbourne, albeit remotely. Jordan will join us over video hangouts from London, and deep dive into BigQuery's storage layer (Capacitor + Colossus (https://cloud.google.com/blog/big-data/2016/04/inside-capacitor-bigquerys-next-generation-columnar-storage-format)). You'd be bonkers to miss this one!
