Starting outside the Oatridge Hotel in Uphall we will retrace the Shale Trail 1 walk in reverse to finish at the main street in Winchburgh.
Transport to Uphall can be achieved by the X 18 bus which runs from Edinburgh City Centre through Corstorphine, Maybury, Newbridge to Bathgate.
Fife walkers can get the 747 from Ferry Toll Park and ride to Ratho Station from where it is a short journey on the x18 to Uphall.
