📍 Woodlands parkrun, ScarboroughFancy a Saturday morning adventure by the seaside? We’re heading over to Scarborough to take part in the Woodlands parkrun — a free, friendly, 5K run (or walk!) that takes place every Saturday morning.
If you’ve never done parkrun before, it’s super welcoming — open to all abilities, whether you want to jog, walk, or just enjoy the atmosphere. You just need to register once (for free!) at parkrun.com/register and bring your barcode so you can get your time recorded.
We’ll be driving from York at 07:20 AM, which should give us loads of time to get there, find parking, and get to the start line before 9:00 AM.
Depending on how many of us are going, we can arrange some ride shares — just let us know if you’ve got space in your car or need a lift.
🚆 Getting the train instead?
The direct train from York leaves at 07:08 and arrives in Scarborough at 07:59, which gives you plenty of time to walk up to the parkrun from the station.
After we’ve done the run (and caught our breath!), we’ll head into town to find a good coffee shop for a warm drink and maybe some breakfast before heading back.***
