What we’re about
All levels and styles are welcome and you could use any medium you like (pencils, charcoal, crayons etc.). We meet weekly in a public place like a coffee-shop or a park. Then you draw anything you like. It could be a bowl of fruit, a person modelling or a dog nearby. There are no teachers or prizes. Just sketching and friends having a wee blether.

Stretch and Sketch
Join us for a yoga and life drawing workshop on Sunday, 17th August from 13:30-16:00
This workshop consists of a 60-minute (beginner-friendly) Yin Yang yoga class run by the brilliant Jasmine Brand-Williamson followed by 75-minutes of life drawing with Hugo from Drawing Life. There will also be breaks and refreshments.
Stretch and Sketch encourages you to capture the shapes that the body creates after embodying them during your practice. Yoga Asana (postures) consists of shapes that are interesting and enjoyable to draw. Both yoga and life drawing are meditative and help you to relax and notice the present moment. Welcome to our weekly life drawing club every Monday evening at Sloans Bar & Restaurant in the city centre. We will be either on the first floor or in the ballroom on the top floor.
Sketching starts at 7pm sharp, but you can arrive from 6.45pm and drop in a bit later too, if that suits you best. Meetup members please liaise in the bar beforehand. From 6.30pm there is a chance to meet, have a drink, and a chat. There's not much chatting when the drawing starts (although you are welcome to!)
Each week there are two life models, who pose in separate rooms. The timings for model 1: 6 x 2 mins, 3 x 5 mins, 3 x 10 mins - 20 min break - 2 x 20 mins. Timings for model 2: 4 x 15 mins - 20 min break - 2 x 20 mins.
The models swap rooms at the break. You're free to wander around, go from room to room, seat to seat, as you wish. Drinks can be taken from the bar and there's a good soundtrack to accompany your drawing.
Bring your own materials, although the event provides some basic stuff too. There are sketchpads to buy, although bring your own as we are often out of stock!
If you haven't got the Meetup app on your phone, it's worth getting. Plus, the wifi password at the venue is 'macaronicheese', should you not get a signal.
Look forward to seeing you in there. For more information check out our website: atyn.co.uk and follow us on Instagram @atynudes xx
