Cut, Fold & Staple: A Zine Workshop
Details
Join us for a cozy and beginner-friendly Zine Workshop with Golda’s Art Social!
This meetup is all about creativity, self-expression, storytelling, and making tiny handmade books together in a relaxed community setting.
We’ll begin with a short slideshow and introduction to zine culture, including some of the artists, punks, activists, illustrators, and underground creators who helped shape the world of DIY publishing. Attendees will also get to look through real zine examples and learn common zine-making methods and formats.
After the presentation, we’ll brainstorm ideas together using optional creative prompts to help get inspiration flowing.
Then we’ll create our own handmade mini-zines using two simple formats:
- 8-fold single-sheet zines
- Half-fold booklet zines
No experience is necessary at all. Whether you love drawing, writing, collage, comics, poetry, journaling, or simply experimenting creatively, this workshop is designed to be approachable and fun.
Materials provided:
- Paper
- Pencils
- Markers
- Staples
- Paperclips
- Sample zines for inspiration
Paperclips will also be available for anyone who wants to make copies of their zines before binding them.
Attendees are welcome to bring their own favorite pens, collage materials, stickers, or sketchbooks if desired.
This meetup is intentionally low-cost and community-focused at just $10 per person. Limited seating available.
