Hendersonville’s First ‘T-Rex' Parade
Inspired by New Orleans’ beloved Petit Rəx Parade, Hendersonville is bringing the magic of miniature Mardi Gras floats to Main Street! Think shoebox-sized creations full of imagination, humor, and local flair—rolled out for everyone to enjoy.
What started in New Orleans as a playful response to giant Mardi Gras spectacles has become a tradition of its own. Tiny floats, big laughs, and an up-close parade experience where every detail shines.

Downtown Hendersonville will be hosting its inaugural Petit Rex (“Small king” or ‘T-Rex) Mardi Gras style SIDEWALK parade on February 7, 2026 at 2pm.
Groups, organizations and businesses are invited to register their 'Krewe' to participate in the micro-parade, which will start at the Hendersonville Welcome Center, walking north on the sidewalk, cross Main Street, and return south on the east side of Main Street.
Hendo Fun Friends does NOT plan to form a ‘Krewe’. But you are encouraged to ‘dress down’ for this event and participate as a ‘walker’.
If enough people sign up, I will post a meeting place and time.
All periphery events will be ‘FYI’. 😉
Events to look out for: (others may be introduced)
Jan. 30th, 6pm - DIY Mardi Gras Mask Workshop - Learn from the Krewe of Bastet on how to make the best Mardi Gras masks while you enjoy a beverage from Southern Appalachian Brewery.
Feb. 7th - Harvey's Harlequins Margi Gras Dinner at The Henderson - Enjoy a taste of Mardi Gras from their special menu that includes, Shrimp & Grits, Crawfish Bisque and King Cake bread Pudding.
Feb 7th, 5:30 - Mardi Gras Gala at Homemade Pasta Noodles - special appetizers, cocktails and special guest Chef Kathy Jones
Feb 7th - After the Parade don't miss out on the Mardi Gras Party being hosted at Oklawaha Brewing Co. where you can check out all the different floats made by all out amazing Krewes and see which ones wins the Mountain Mardi Gras Theme Design Contest!
