About us
Hike Oxfordshire is part of the Ramblers and is aimed at young walkers in their 20's, 30's, and 40's but anyone is welcome regardless of their age.
https://hikeoxfordshire.org/
You are able to attend 3 walks for free after which you will need to join the Ramblers. Ramblers membership will allow you to continue walking with us or any other Ramblers groups.
Membership is only £45 a year and you can join here:
https://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership
We are a group who enjoy walking and socialising. Almost all of our walks end at the pub and we also organise regular monthly socials in Oxford and surrounding towns - we go for meals and pub trips as well as things like comedy, cycle tours and the theatre.
Please note the following:
There maybe a number of Ramblers members joining the group who are not shown on the Meetup RSVP list.
The group is normally easy to find by looking for a group in walking kit. Please aim to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the walk and if you are having trouble finding the group please contact the walk leader.
The organiser identified on Meetup may be different from the actual walk leader. Please see the description of the walk for their name and contact details.
In terms of what you need to bring:
- A packed lunch (unless the walk description says otherwise)
- Water
- Suitable clothing according to the weather conditions that day
- We advise walking shoes or boots
- Waterproof coats and trousers as you may well get wet and muddy.

Tap Social Quiz (BOOKING REQUIRED)
TAP Social Movement, 27, Curtis Industrial Estate,, N Hinksey Ln, Oxford, GBI am going to put on another social event at Tap Social, which is my regular quiz location.
Last time we had two teams and did pretty well.
https://www.tapsocialmovement.com/pages/eventsThere are several rounds including a picture round and is good fun and the beer is good.
The quiz is £1 each please bring a £1 coin with you!
I have to book tables so RSVPing to the event is required and I'll close RSVPs on Tuesday. The quiz is very popular so please only RSVP if you intend on coming.
There's already four of us in a team (max team size is 6) so depending on how many people RSVP we will split into various tables and compete against each other.
They serve excellent pizza and the beer is good so consider not driving :) if you do drive please check the parking registration requirements at the bar.

Nettlebed to Stoke Row Circular Walk (9 Miles)
Nettlebed, The Church Hall, High Street, Nettlebed, Henley-on-Thames RG9 5DA, Oxfordshire, GBImmerse yourself in rolling Chiltern countryside, peaceful beech woodlands, and great company on a 9-mile circular walk thatās sure to be a highlight of your week. Our route begins and ends in the charming village of Nettlebed, perched on a ridge high above the Thames Valley and surrounded by classic Chiltern scenery.
This will be a joint walk with our friends from the Chiltern Young Walkers group, offering a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded people and forge new friendships along the way.
Important Note: Nettlebed has free roadside parking available throughout the village. Parking maybe a little scattered so please ensure you arrive in good time so you have enough time to find a suitable space. Given the anticipated number of attendees we'll be setting off at 10:30am sharp.
Setting off from Nettlebed, weāll head south-east along quiet country lanes before joining field paths that lead us gently down into the surrounding valleys. The landscape soon opens into a patchwork of farmland and hedgerows, before we enter the airy beechwoods that define this part of the Chilterns. As we wind through woodland and meadow, there are occasional far-reaching views across rolling Oxfordshire countryside and wooded ridges beyond.
Continuing anticlockwise, we gradually climb towards the delightful hilltop village of Stoke Row ā known for its historic Maharajahās Well and peaceful village green. Here, at around the halfway point, weāll enjoy a relaxed and sociable stop for sandwiches outside the welcoming The Crooked Billet. Itās the perfect place to unwind over a drink, share stories from the trail, and soak up the atmosphere of a classic Chiltern country pub.
Refreshed, weāll leave Stoke Row heading north-west along peaceful bridleways and woodland tracks through more of the Chilternsā signature beech and oak woods. The return leg meanders across quiet commons and open farmland, with gentle undulations and a wonderfully unspoilt feel.
Our final stretch brings us back into Nettlebed, where historic cottages and leafy lanes welcome us home. To round off the day, thereās the option to gather at the friendly The White Hart ā an ideal spot to celebrate the walk together. Whether you fancy a pint of local ale, a glass of wine, or a refreshing soft drink, itās the perfect setting to relax, chat, and enjoy the warm village atmosphere before heading home.
We look forward to sharing this beautiful journey with you!
