Hiking and Affordable Adventures

I've secured a cottage in the Highlands of Scotland from 1st July to 11 July 2026 in a sleepy hamlet called Torridon. Dates should align to school holidays.

It sleeps five with a mixture of single / double beds in three bedrooms, (in Yorkshire accent) Luxury! No carrying your house on your back, no washing in a creek but you can if you wish. No, no this is a beautiful cottage with hot water, heaters, open fire, thick fluffy doonas, washing machine, fully equipped kitchen etc.

Anyway it's nice and comes at mates rates ($50 per night max, depends on final numbers etc). We will have to clean up at the end and wash bedding etc. Foodwise there is a small shop / cafe in Torridon, but I would suggest we do a huge shop on the way up in a large shopping centre and cook together. Say on or two people do the cooking for all rotate each day? We will need a rental van for 11 days which is about $300 with fuel. The most expensive is the return flights this year about $2500 to Edinburgh.
