New Year's Day Pine Hollow and Salamander Flat Loop - Snowshoe/Spikes hike
Pine Hollow Trailhead, American Fork Canyon,, American Fork, UT, US
Meet at the Pine Hollow Trailhead in American Fork Canyon at 10 AM to begin hiking at 10:15 AM. We will make a loop from Pine Hollow around Salamander Flat and back.

*To reach this trailhead go to the American Fork Canyon entrance as they close the Alpine Loop between Pine Hollow trailhead and Aspen Grove trailhead each winter.

Bring your snowshoes, warm clothing and layers, water, and snacks.

**Trail is 4.5 miles with 1300 feet of elevation gain
- Note: This trail is exposed to potential avalanche danger. The hike is dependent on avalanche conditions, which can be found here. I will cancel if conditions are "considerable" or higher. For reference, this trail is at 8,000 feet.

Snowshoe hike and Sled Tibble Fork area
Tibblefork Reservoir Parking Lot, See the Map in the Notes, American Fork, UT, US
Meet at the Tibble Fork Reservoir parking in American Fork Canyon. We will hopefully have enough snow for this activity. Plan is to hike/snowshoe to the top of a canyon near Tibble Fork then sled down the canyon.

If there is not enough snow to sled and snowshoe then we will hike the loop.
The trail has about 1,000 feet of gain and up to 5 miles round trip, with a steep section towards the beginning.

Bring snowshoes, spikes, sled, snacks, water, and wear layers.

I will check the avalanche watch before we go and if it is not safe we will switch to a different area so check back with this event before you arrive.

Climbing at Sandy Momentum

Welcome fellow climbers! We will be climbing at the sandy Momentum location. People of all ages, abilities, and genders are welcome to join us.

If it is your first time you must fill out a waiver before climbing. You can do that online. Here is the link for first time visitor information:

You must have a UIAA certified harness, carabiner, ATC or other belay device. (Or you can rent them there.) Chalk optional. If you are leading, you should bring a dynamic rope that is in good condition for a potential lead fall. I am top rope only certified and don’t have a rope at this time.

Cost to join us is free, but Momentum is a gym and you do have to pay to get in. Refer to their website for prices. Message me if you have any questions, concerns, or if you need a buddy pass.
