2.5-3.5 hours, 4-5 miles, brisk pace between stops, visiting the most beautiful buildings on Broad Street north of City Hall, lunch afterward if there's interest.

We are continuing our hikes to go see the most impressive architectural gems in a series of Philadelphia neighborhoods. For this hike we will be heading straight up Broad Street to admire mansions and churches that were built when North Broad Street was known as “Philadelphia’s Boulevard of the Elite”! If you don't know this area, I guarantee you'll be surprised by the beauty and exquisite craftsmanship of these buildings. Among the highlights will be the home of one of Philadelphia’s great dynastic families, the imposing birthplace and namesake of Temple University, and one of America's largest and most breathtaking Gothic (Revival) churches.

As always, no knowledge of architecture is needed . . . just an interest in seeing beautiful places and a willingness to stay with the group.
