What we’re about
This group is to organise hiking daytrips from Geneva with a historical theme. I'm basing these on suggestions found in a local historical publication called Passé Simple. The hikes are meant to be reachable via public transport (Geneva train station) and of easy to medium difficulty (2 to 5 hours).
I'm not a professional guide, just an enthusiast :)

Chexbres To Vevey and Chaplin Museum

Let’s meet this Sunday for a hike through the Lavaux vinyards and visit the Chaplin museum on the heights of Vevey, for some history of cinema as well as their Halloween themed events!
We start in Chexbres, a village overlooking the lake and from which we should have great views as well as enjoy the autumn colours of the vineyard covered terraces. Then on towards a the village of Chardonne and on down to the outskirts above Vevey, where Chaplin’s house and museum are.
The museum is where Chaplin lived his final years and is dedicated to the early days of cinema. You can find out more about Chaplin’s World on:

Let’s meet at Chexbres at 11am on Sunday. I’ll be starting from Geneva on the 09:39 via Lausanne and Cully (the last leg of the this being on the B382 bus). The hike should be around 3 and a half hours, and counting breaks and the visit we should be at Vevey station around 5pm.
As usual please come prepared for changes in weather and with water, snacks, etc, and make sure you are equipped for summer conditions (hat, sunscreen). I am not a professional guide and decline responsibility for any incident.
